Welcome to the "The Restful Place", the local group ot SCA-members and former SCA-members living in the part of Germany known as "Ruhrgebiet", in Recklinghausen.
Our main activities are feasting and having a good time, we are busy with cooking, sewing, the Fine Arts. We sing, play music, enjoy a good cup of tea and love having guests!

Our local group may be the oldest German-speaking SCA-group in the KW. We started our activities back in 1982 and kept being active through the years.
Like with many other groups, our members used to be both officially registered members of SCA and not registered - which isn't quite unusual in US, too. Whether officially registered or not - we kept being active and promoting the current middle ages.
In three years we will have our 30 years anniversary which makes us feel rather proud.
The Restful Place ist die Ortsgruppe der SCA-Mitglieder von Drachenwald, die im Ruhrgebiet in NRW wohnen.
Unsere Hauptaktivitäten sind fröhliche Feiern, üppige Tafeln und Spaß zu haben. Wir befassen uns mit Kochen, Nähen, den schönen Künsten. Wir musizieren gern, mögen eine schöne Tasse Tee und lieben es, Gäste zu haben. Wenn das Wetter es zuläßt und wir daran Spaß haben, kann es auch sein, dass wir unsere Rüstungen anlegen, die Rattanschwerter zur Hand nehmen und nur so zum Spaß SCA-Kämpfe durchführen.
